My hubby and I love camping. Last weekend we needed a one day get away. He needed a break from studying for the bar and I needed a break from my shows. I had always heard great things about Assateaque Island so I reserved a beach side camp site for us a few weeks back. And boy does it live up to its hype. There were wild horses everywhere (especially at night…which was slightly terrifying!) We usually do backpack camping and hike in to stay over night so it was a nice change to go car camping (you can bring so much more!) Christian, in true eagle scout spirit, whipped up an impressive fire and we cooked lamb kabobs and corn on the cob while we listened to the waves crash on the beach. We even made time to go on a nice hike through a dune trail. My favorite part was seeing all the wildlife- horses of course but lots of deer too and little bunnies with cotton ball tails! Glad I got to check this adventure off our list before we move!
